Upon college graduation, Nick knew he wanted to pursue a career in human resources. Several months before his graduation date, Nick reached out to the team in our Parsippany office to help point him in the right direction. From there, he connected with Chloe Durante, a Staffing Manager in The Execu|Search Group’s Office Support/Human Resources division.

With Chloe as his guide, Nick quickly landed a contract role with a respected company. Impressed by his hard work and dedication, the organization decided to bring him on full-time! Happy in his new role, Nick was happy to speak with us about his experience with Execu|Search:

On his background…

While studying at Rider University, I held several part-time jobs and already had an internship in human resources under my belt. I took pride in my work and enjoyed my classes, so I knew I wanted to use my skills and experience to start my career in the industry immediately upon graduating.

On what he was looking for…

Even though I knew what I was looking for and was willing to work hard for it, I wasn’t sure if I could get on the right track by myself. When I was looking for a staffing firm to work with, my main priority was finding someone who could look at my current process and offer me guidance on what I could do to improve in order for me to start my career as soon as possible.

On how TESG worked to meet his needs…

Once I connected with the team at Execu|Search, I found exactly what I had been missing without realizing it. While I knew what I was looking for in terms of the work I wanted to do, they were able to identify the factors I hadn’t previously thought about, such as the pay I should ask for, the benefits of a contract-to-hire role, and what an employer would expect of someone in an entry-level role.

On preparing for the interview…

Before I had my interview, Chloe advised me on how to impress the company I was interviewing with. Not only did she give me details about the company’s background and what they were looking for in their next hire, but she also helped me build my confidence. This was key to me landing the job!

On his overall experience…

Chloe was a tremendous help during my search! With her guidance, I was able to go into the interview with confidence and knowledge about what I should expect and ask for. Because of her, I was able to find a job very quickly once I was out of school.
