How Execu|Search Put Me To Work: Dileisi Ovalles

This is part of a series of testimonials from candidates who have successfully been placed by The Execu|Search Group. This testimonial comes from Dileisi Ovalles; you can find our past testimonials here.

When Dileisi Ovalles, a medical assistant, partnered with The Execu|Search Group, she was willing to explore all of her available options.  After meeting with Arielle Pollack, a Senior Staffing Manager within The Execu|Search Group’s Health Services division, Dileisi was able to land a position as a medical assistant at a prominent community health center, where she can not only use her unique skillset, but continue learning in a dynamic environment.  She had a positive experience with Arielle, and was happy to speak with us about it…

On her background…

I earned my Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy certifications at the Allen School of Health Sciences. Upon graduation, I completed my first internship where I quickly learned that this was my passion, and I wanted to follow this career path. After 5 years of experience, I was unemployed for a short period of time before Arielle helped me land my current position.

On what she was looking for…

When I came to meet with Arielle, I was open to almost any path.  Even though I was accepting of a variety of options, Arielle was excellent at asking the right questions to find a position that I would love.  Because of her ability to identify and understand what I was looking for, I not only landed a role that was the right fit for my background, but also provided a new set of challenges that has helped me grow in my career.

On how TESG worked to meet her needs…

Because Arielle was intent on listening to my needs and career goals, she was able to secure me an interview with a prominent community health center, and I was able to land the job.  While I was a temporary employee for the first six months, Arielle called weekly to check in on me, and I had the chance to discuss any questions or concerns with her.  Not only did she find me the right position, but she helped guide me through some unique challenges in my first months that helped me cultivate my professional skills and eventually receive an offer for a permanent position.

On preparing for the interview…

Upon landing the interview, Arielle worked diligently to prepare me for success.  On top of providing resources to research the company, she also gave me an idea of what kind of questions I could expect.  Through the preparation process, I was able to enter the interview with the confidence I needed to ultimately receive the job offer.

On her overall experience…

With Arielle’s help, I landed a role in one of the most diverse community health centers in New York City, and I am grateful for the abundance of new experiences I’ve gained as a result.  Not only have I developed new skills as a Medical Assistant, but I’ve really found an environment in which I can excel.  After six months, I was hired permanently, and I am very blessed to continue my professional experience here.  With Arielle’s assistance, I was able to land the job that was right for me.

“After meeting with Deleisi, I was confident that we would be able to find the right position for her,” says Arielle.  “Not only did she have great experience, but she had a great attitude, and she was very flexible.  Because she was open to a new experience, I was able to find her a position where she was able to develop new skills and grow as a professional.  She put in the effort and time, not only to secure the position, but also to be offered a permanent role—and she truly deserves it.”
