At Tandym, we know that success is a team sport, and every month, we take a moment to recognize one standout player who goes above and beyond. Our Teammate of the Month isn’t just someone who gets the job done; they embody our values, uplift those around them, and make a lasting impact. Get to know Melanie Eisenberg, a Managing Director on our Sales team and Tandym’s Teammate of the Month for July 2025!
I grew up in Merrick, Long Island, with my three sisters, my mom (who’s originally from Cuba), and my dad, a proud U.S. Veteran. Fun fact – my parents met through a bit of a family setup. My dad’s brother married my mom’s sister, and somewhere along the way, sparks flew.
I originally planned to go into nursing, but like most plans, mine evolved. While at Binghamton, I met my husband, Eric, which was a funny twist since we had both done the same gap year in Israel but never met until we were back in New York. Our first date was in the dining hall. Romantic, I know. Fast forward 10 years, and now we live in Midtown Manhattan with our two-year-old daughter, Noa, who is sweet, hilarious, and very much the boss of us.
Corned beef or pastrami on rye. Classic, dependable, and very East Coast. You never have to guess what you’re getting (shoutout to Mendy’s Deli on Park Ave)!
I have a lot of admiration for my parents, but the person who stands out most is my grandfather. He came here from Cuba on a freedom flight with one suitcase, his wife, and two kids, and completely started their lives over. He opened Pioneer Barber Shop in Rockville Centre, which is still around today and a true staple in the community.
The town recently named a street after him: “Jose Dominguez Way.” I know that all the opportunities I’ve had are because of the path he paved with his hard work, determination, and love for his family.
Law & Order: SVU. There’s always a marathon on, you can miss half of it and still keep up.
Strategic patience. It’s in my nature to move fast as I like to get things done, however, sometimes the most powerful move is knowing when to pause.
Tandym found me through a referral. At the time, I was still in school and working a sales internship, selling toxicology testing to medical offices. I’ll never forget admitting in my interview that I hadn’t made a single sale. Somehow, that honesty worked in my favor. I didn’t fully understand staffing back then, but I immediately connected with the people I met during the interview process. I saw working parents, strong leaders, and people who had built real careers here. Many of them have become close mentors and friends.
Israel! It’s beautiful, vibrant, and I have a lot of family and friends there that I don’t get to see often enough. I would love nothing more than to take a team’s call at a beach café in Tel Aviv.
Honestly, I felt appreciative. I am lucky to work alongside such talented and thoughtful teammates who celebrate each other’s wins. It’s a motivating environment to work in.
The Sesame Street theme song.
I want to spend more time understanding Tandym’s newer offerings and our investments around AI. As the company continues to grow and evolve, so has our ability to support clients beyond just filling roles. With so many specialized teams now in place, we can approach client partnerships in a much more strategic way. The better I understand the full scope of what we offer across all divisions, the more effective I can be in helping clients solve real business challenges.
I also want to continue learning from the people around me and create space to mentor others when I can. There’s a lot of talent here and it’s important to me to contribute to that growth just as others have done for me.
From Friday night to Saturday night, we unplug for Shabbat. No phones, no distractions, just time with family and friends. Saturday mornings, we’re usually at synagogue, and by the afternoon, our apartment somehow becomes the family hangout spot.
Sundays are our adventure day – Central Park Zoo, a new playground, or my daughter’s favorite destination: Petco. No idea why she loves it so much, but we go with it. Sometimes we turtle-sit for Noa’s best friend’s two turtles, Dolce and Gabbana. Eric takes out the garbage, I vacuum, and we call it a productive weekend
