You pass them in the halls, see their faces on Teams calls, and exchange emails. You know their job title and department and might even know their extension by heart. But do you truly know who you’re working with? Get to know Jennie Show, an Account Manager and Tandym’s Employee of the Month for April 2024!

Who are you?

I was born and raised in East Hanover, New Jersey. I attended Hanover Park High School, where I kept busy with soccer, softball, and track, although I wasn’t particularly great at any of them. Later, I went to Hofstra University and joined a sorority, which still surprises me to this day. After college, I lived in New York City and then Hoboken for three years, where I eventually met my husband. We moved back to my hometown of East Hanover with our two children, Jaxon & Genevieve, and our little French bulldog named Mila. I’m a very family-oriented person, so naturally my brother, sister, mother, and grandmother all live within a few miles of me too.

Do you have any hidden talents?

I like to think of myself as a creative person. I’m really good at designing and drawing and pretty good with my hands. I’m all about DIY projects. My husband and I love taking on home projects and we work well together.
Fun fact: I worked for HGTV for 4 years doing AdSales and commercial planning before I eventually got to Tandym.

Who were your role models / inspirations / heroes growing up?

That would have to be my mother and grandma – both of whom are extremely tough people and mean the world to me. My mom was far from a stay-at-home mom. She worked two jobs to support our family and still managed to always be there for me and my siblings at any of our special events or stuff like that growing up. We also had the luxury of having our grandparents living with us growing up and my grandma, who is 97, has forver been a rock for our family. We recently lost my grandpa, but she’s still in good spirits and positive about everything all the time. Both of those women have been through difficult times, but they’ve powered and pushed through every which way possible. I don’t know where I’d be without them.

Describe your ideal weekend.

It’s been a dream of mine since I was a kid to have my very own house on the Jersey Shore. I know that might sound ridiculous to some people, but we were so over the charade of doing a one or two-week rental that we decided to invest and got a house in Tom’s River right on the water. So, my ideal weekend would be heading down to the beach with my whole family and just relaxing. Very simple, but so satisfying.

Did you find Tandym or did we find you?

I found Tandym! I was still working in the city at the time and was looking to get out because we moved back to East Hanover. I saw an opening in the Parsippany office for an Account Manager for the Tech team. I don’t know who I was originally supposed to have my interview with, but Romina Margiotta ended up interviewing me and we hit it off immediately that she offered me a position with the Healthcare team. I jumped at the opportunity, even though I didn’t know much about the industry at all. But I’m a quick learner and hard worker, so I wasn’t worried a bit. It’s funny because Romina’s one of the people I collaborate with the most at the company, so having her be the first person I interviewed with and still working hand-in-hand with her consistently to this day made the transition so much easier. I don’t want to brag or anything, but I did an interview with Kyle Mattice too after Romina and to this day he says it’s one of the best interviews he’s ever done. I must’ve blacked out because I don’t remember any of it at all, but apparently, it went really well!

If were to tune into “The Jennie Show Show”, who would play you, what would it be about, and why?

I feel like I’m a Monica Geller type of personality, but I don’t think Courtney Cox would be good a choice to play me in my life right now. I truly don’t know who would be good for that role, but the show would 100% be about toddler life and the chaos that is my house every day. I’d say that’d be a decent comedy. At this point, I’ve just embraced the chaos. And with all my friends having kids around the same ages and dealing with their turbulent day-to-day lives as well, I just always invite them over so we can manage it all together. I’m telling you – a toddler-dominated show! (My mom thinks it should be Dakota Johnson who plays me.)

How did it feel to win Employee of the Month?

Shocked, surprised, I was all of that and more. To be honest, I was actually on PTO that day and didn’t have the intention of joining the Town Hall live. I was just going to read the recap later that day. Then I realized I had a few missed messages from Romina, so I knew something was up. And then Jill Bragg called me and said I should jump onto the Town Hall when it was live. Of course, me being me I started to overthink things and talked myself into believing that I was going to get fired on that Town Hall. Instead, it was the most pleasant surprise I could’ve ever expected. When they revealed it, I was so frazzled and tried to unmute myself to thank everyone, but I just couldn’t do it for some reason so I settled for the message in the chat. The best part about it was that I had a really tough week the week before, so the recognition went a long way for me.

If there was a Mount Rushmore of your 4 favorite foods, what would be on there?

Oh wow. That’s tough. Oh wait, no it’s not. First, anything Carbonara. I prefer large rigatoni, but any pasta will do. Second would be tacos, but definitely not fish tacos. Give me ground beef any day of the week. Cacio E Pepe would be number three. And number four, honestly just bread. I love bread in all its forms, so maybe just throw a bagel on there. I know there’s not much of a variety up there, but I’m Italian through and through and that’s just how it is with me.

What advice would you give to an eager coworker on how to win Employee of the Month?

Show up every day and do your best and if you’re doing it well, you will for sure be recognized. Don’t be too in your head about the little things. If you care about your work and what you’re doing, then that will shine through. We’re all at this company for a reason. Embrace it and things will work themselves out.

If you had to have one animal always hanging out on your shoulder, what would it be and why?

Wait, but what if my animal is impossible though? Because I would really like to have a mini sea otter. Please if that’s okay. They’ve been my favorite animal since I was a kid, and it was my favorite Beanie Baby growing up. I recently found a chest full of 200 Beanie Babies that I collected since I was a kid. They have the authentic protectors and all that stuff. They’re all probably worth nothing now, but I was obsessed and had to have them all.

What are your goals for 2024 and beyond?

I made a promise to myself that I would be more present – both in my personal life with my family and my professional life here. But honestly, a goal is to simply keep grinding. I like to consider myself a warrior of sorts and anything that comes my way I’ll get through it. And, of course, maybe ultimately work my way into earning a spot for Chairman’s Circle 2025. There are a lot of talented Account Managers and Accounts Executives that I have to compete with to get there, but I’m always up for a challenge.

If you got stranded on an island, which of your coworkers would be the most helpful to get off of it?

I think I’m going to have to go with Rahul Vyas. I work with him regularly and he’s extremely resourceful. He’s also so confident and can talk his way out of any situation, so I’m sure he’d have a solid plan for us to get off the island sooner rather than later.
